After going through basic definitions, this talk is broken down into 3-parts to help provide you with “TO DO LIST” as part of your case management for the retirement accounts in any of your divorce cases.

Biography for Louise Nixon:

Louise Nixon is a Principal of QDROCounsel. She is a recurrent family law court appointed expert on QDROs and nationally recognized speaker and writer on the subject. She has been quoted for her expertise in the New York Times, Bloomberg, MSNBC and the Wall Street Journal. Since 1994, Louise has practiced QDRO and retirement benefits law as an attorney for retirement plans as well as for the parties. She is committed to giving back to community and was awarded the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law (hbcfl.org), a non-profit which provides free legal services for low income families in turmoil, and she continues to serve on its Advisory Council.  She is also a member of the “QDRONES,” a national study group comprised of QDRO attorneys and pension valuation experts.
